Letter to John Kerry about Children's Healthcare

John Kerry sent me an email the other day requesting that I sign a petition in support of a bill he was trying to get through about healthcare for children. This was the gist of my response:

"I applaud Senator Kerry's latest campaign to improve the health of children in American. However, going about it from a Western Medicine perspective is NOT the answer. We have all the doctors, hospitals, specialists, and pharmaceuticals in the world and the health of U.S. citizens continues to decline. And I'm talking about the ones who have health insurance.

I've personally been in all parts of the health care system including being a patient, a clerical assistant in a private medical practice, hospital admissions, and finally as a manager in pharmaceutical manufacturing. I was doing everything the medical profession told me to do for my own failing health, including taking medicine all day every day, and my health only continued to decline.

As an Industrial Engineer - who's primary focus is to find the root cause of a problem - I realized that Western Medicine is based on completely wrong principles if the goal is a healthy society. Western Medical doctors are trained in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. That's it. That is all they do and all they know - unless the individual doctor branches out and learns about wellness, nutrition, energy medicine, etc. on their own. They are not experts in wellness. To bring wellness to America requires a radical change in lifestyle, eating habits, and more time outdoors.

Do you realize that many highly educated people refuse to let their children be immunized? Why is that? One of the primary reasons is the link between Autism and childhood immunizations. Anyone who looks at the ingredients in the childhood immunization series would be horrified at what they contain. Why are we poisoning children with mercury in the form of Thimerisol? It's poison. The other ingredients aren't much better.

There are so many examples of the American lifestyle causing disease, I can't possibly put it all into a simple email.

Doctors are a last resort, for emergencies. They are not for ongoing maintenance and well being.
Educate the public in how to take better care of themselves. Teach them how to communicate better with one another which would eliminate their primary cause of stress, which directly results in disease.

O.K., so it is a radical approach. But, its also the truth."
